The 90m ICE-Class Explorer Yacht TABOO is the newest addition to the series of ground-breaking designs by New York-based GILL SCHMID DESIGN. It was developed in collaboration with Tim Dempers Studio from Cape Town and represent s new era of sea transport. TABOO is designed for the adventure and thrill seeking owner, who likes is always on the lookout for his next adrenaline-inducing sea getaway, but doesn’t want to compromise comfort and functionality at the same time.
TABOO is a high-volume purpose built expedition yacht capable of extreme polar and tropical adventures, with the performance capacity of a commercial vessel. Its design and space allocation offers the highest levels of luxury in the most remote places on earth.
Highlights of this futuristic-looking yacht include a full-size, swimming pool surrounded by ample lounging area that is protected by glass walls for uninterrupted views and weather insulation. Two Jacuzzis, a gym and spa area, and an aft summerhouse complete the perks of sailing on board of this functional vessel. The owner has a separate deck that includes a private lounge, outdoor space, and offices. A helicopter landing pad and accompanying retractable, enclosed helicopter garage allow guests to jet in and out at their convenience. And additional garages on the bottom deck can accommodate any type of sea toys up to 46 feet.
Multilevel living areas are fitted with large windows, some of which feature one-way glazing for privacy with views and light in personal spaces that can transform into open entertainment space. Adaptability and functionality are the focal points of the design. Still in pre-production, buyers are already expressing their interest. The firm allows the design of TABOO to be fully customized to client requirements and wishes, and can presently accommodate up to 26 passengers and 40 crewmembers. Price is yet to be announced.
