Ferrari’s Most Powerful Car Yet – the 812 Superfast

Ferrari is reigniting the supercar power war with what is planned as the fastest and most powerful model, the aptly named 812 Superfast. 588kW from its V12 engine will power the two-door, which will be able to accelerate to 100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of “more than” 340km/h.

F12′s successor doesn’t disappoint in terms of visual aesthetic as well. The fastback design hides active flaps at the front of the underbody, and a rear flank features an aerodynamic by-pass to increase downforce, giving the model a beautifully aggressive shape. Designed to deliver exhilarating driving both on road and track yet also be sufficiently comfortable to use at any time, the 812 Superfast is a welcomed addition to the collection of every driver with a penchant for adrenaline-inducing experiences.

Ferrari04

A noteworthy new feature is the EPS (Electric Power Steering) which is calibrated to work in tandem with the car’s electronic vehicle dynamics controls. These include the latest version of Ferrari’s patented Side Slip Control (SCC) – making its powerful performance easier to handle and even more thrilling to exploit. There is also a Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system (PCV) which, benefits from further evolution of the software that improves the nimbleness of the handling and reduces the vehicle response times.

The high tail of the 812 is reminiscent of the 365 GTB4 of 1969. LED headlights are integrated into the design of the air intakes. The car is being launched in a special new colour, Rosso Settanta to mark the company’s 70th anniversary.

No official price has been announced yet for the 812 Superfast, but prices for the model it replaces, the F12 Berlinetta, start at $320,000.
