Princess Yachts advance orders have superseded the one billion mark in 2017, breaking all existing records. Sales are up by 20% on the previous year, with demand particularly strong in Asia where Princess Yachts has been active for the last 25 years.

A recent global report issued in 2017 by Global Industry Analysts Inc, on the yachting industry predicted that global yacht sales would reach the astronomical figure of US$74.7 billion by 2022! With increasing interest from Asia, the Pacific region along with the Middle East the future bodes well for Princess Yachts. The USA accounts for just under half the global demand, with Asia and especially China creating the other 52%.

Princess Yachts is a British yacht builder owned by L Catterton which has been operational in Malaysia for the last 25 years, gaining a solid reputation for quality and luxurious comfort. The Airbus A340 is a magnificent flying machine in its own right. With a touch of glamour that Celia is well known for, there has never been anything like this project before.

The owner of this Airbus A340 wanted a ‘floating palace in the clouds’. He requested grand spacious, areas with multiple entertainment options to keep guests entertained while cruising around the world in the sky. The client is a member of a royal family in the Middle East, and Celia clicked with him immediately.

With a team of artisans working on the beautiful project, the salon and lounge areas boast individual, gold-plated sections. They trace the curves of the aircraft creating a ‘wow’ look to those sections of the interior, which blends well with the unique and made to order, linear furniture that is decorated with hand-stitched Tuscan leather and elegant velvet. Two crystal chandeliers with 24-karat-gold accents adorn the lounge, while the bar area is impressively lit from beneath to create a magnificent visual effect. In the main bathroom, there is a Swarovski-crystal-and-glass washbasin, and the bathroom has midnight blue marble, and a fully integrated mirror faced TV screen.

The experimental project is a glamorous and glossy one, somewhat reminiscent of hotel or restaurant basking in high-quality leather interior furnishings. The interior does not resemble that of a plane, instead offers relaxed and pleasurable surroundings that will make passengers forget they are in the sky in a plane. Celia Sawyer’s career as an interior designer with a flair for the unexpected and brilliant! Her next project is with the Royal Navy, designing the Officers’ Mess on the HMS Queen Elizabeth warship, another prestigious and historical project.

Zaha Hadid $140 Million Luxury Futuristic Fortress Residence

The only residence ever designed by the late, great Zaha Hadid, the world-renowned architect. Hidden in the Barvikha Forest, close to Moscow in Russia, the house was commissioned by the Russian James Bond; Vladislav Doronin, as described by Hadid. Named the Capital Hill Residence, the ideal project includes a master suite bedroom elevated 36 meters into the sky, towering above the surrounding forest. Legendary Cruise Ship QE2 Becomes Floating Hotel in Dubai with $100 million investment

The legendary cruise ship becomes a luxury floating hotel in Dubai! Opening in 2018, the Dubai based hotel company, PCFC Hotels will be investing up to $100 million to transform the ship into a unique and superb hotel complex. The project will see the last of the great 20th century Atlantic liners, the QE2  which weighs 70,000 tons, turned into luxury accommodation and a museum centre at the prestigious, Mina Rashid on the Dubai waterfront.

The QE2 II was retired in 2008, after four decades of service and was sold to Dubai World for conversion into a luxury floating hotel. The accommodation will include a selection of restored staterooms and luxury suites. There are thirteen restaurants and bars. Restaurants will consist of the Chart Room, which is a historic lounge and bar, a traditional English pub, all-day restaurants, a cabaret lounge, and a new version of the ship’s old Yacht Club. The museum is housed on the adjacent peer and details the colourful history of the much loved liner, which carried over 2.5 million passengers, sailed on 1,400 sea voyages, and 25 world tours with 6 million nautical miles travelled!

The QE2 cost US$80 million and was built at the John Brown Shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland.
