A $500m Bel Air home will become America’s most expensive estate when it hits the market next year. The 100,000 square feet property called ‘The One’ from property developer Nile Niami is situated atop a hill in Bel Air and boasts views of the city and ocean.

America’s most expensive home comes complete with a nightclub, beauty salon, 20 bedrooms and sweeping views of LA and the Pacific Ocean.$500m Bel Air home becomes America's most expensive

The spectacular estate boasts a number of perks including a nightclub with its own V.I.P room, 20 bedrooms including a 5,500-square-foot master suite, seven swimming pools, complete with a moat and indoor spa count, five elevators and a beauty salon.

The master suite alone is larger than most New York City apartments and comes complete with its own pool, kitchen and office. Owners will have plenty of space to park their expensive cars in the 30-car parking garage. There is also a 45-seat IMAX movie theater.

An angular, minimalist sauna provides some much-needed space for treatment and relaxation and there is a hot yoga room as well.

The asking price of $500 million for the ‘The One’ makes it four times more expensive than the most expensive house ever sold in America – a home in New York state’s Hamptons that sold for $137million in 2014.

Spanning 20,000 feet, the lawn of the property would be artificial in order to comply with the state’s drought laws. Infinity pools will surround the plush property and give owners the feel of an ocean-front estate in a tropical setting.

All of the kitchens are fitted with state-of-the-art appliances, including a luxury coffee machine, which can brew most well-known coffee beverages. Dozens of bottles of Cristal Champagne are complimentary with the home, which has a private cellar exclusively dedicated to the expensive alcoholic beverage.

Lamborghini and MIT Team Up on Terzo Millennio Hypercar Concept

One of the most exciting collaborations of 2017 could produce the car of the future – an all-electric road rocket that is more than just a treat for the eyes.

A self-repairing hypercar? That is what the Automobili Lamborghini’s visionary plans center around. In November, the company officially revealed its exploration into innovative technologies and the development of electric power trains in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With that mission in mind, the marque also unveiled a super sports car concept called Lamborghini of the Terzo Millennio.lamborghini-terzo-millennio-side Under the collaboration with the participants in the MIT-Italy Program, both institutions are focused on five areas of advancement. These include new systems for propulsion and energy storage, a next-level design language, adoption of cutting-edge materials, and a new level of driver experience and automotive interface.

Lamborghini is not a brand that shies away from challenges and the Terzo Millennio concept certainly proves this with its entire carbon-fiber body serving as a reservoir for reserve energy.

As far as energy and storage breakthroughs, supercapacitors fitted in the car will optimize power and contribute to the regeneration of kinetic energy while greatly increasing the system’s lifecycle compared to existent battery configurations. Storage capacity will be another key element of the Terzo Millennio’s entire carbon-fiber body. It will serve as a reservoir for reserve energy. This alternative “fuel” will be injected into electric motors located at each wheel. In addition, the vehicle’s proposed ability to conduct diagnostics and repair its own detected defects and weak points is a concept that will thrill many driving enthusiasts. This will be achieved via so-called arteries within the body that contain restorative chemicals.lamborghini-terzo-millennio-5

In theory, this will allow the vehicle to conduct its own diagnostics and structural repair. The car will boast forged composite monocoque construction and present a new direction in design—one that enhances aerodynamics more than ever. Inside, the driver will have access to the vehicle’s Piloted Driving simulation, which is capable of autonomously guiding the occupant around a selected racecourse before turning the car over to human control.

While the car is still far from production or even development, it’s certainly something that will stir waves in the automobile sector in the following years.

Lady Arpels Planétarium for SIHH 2018

Iconic watchmaker Van Cleef & Arpels has presented a new piece of horological craftsmanship and expanded its exclusive high jewellery watch collection this holiday season. The Midnight Planétarium™ specially-designed for women is an expression of Poetry of Time® by depicting a cosmo, illustrated by the Sun and Moon, the star constellations along with the closest planets: Mercury, Venus and Earth.

The exceptional watch is a beautiful nod to the Lady Arpels Planétarium timepieces from the SIHH 2018, and represents a re-invented iconic creation from the Midnight Planétarium watch and the Lady Arpels Zodiac models in 2014. The new model offers an intimate view into a rich universe of Poetic Astronomy with an accurate interaction of the Sun and Moon and the closest planets.

Haute Horlogerie is the key innovation that elevates Van Cleef & Arpels’ standard of movement and the ethereal decorations of the dial to its pinnacle levels. The magic of the night sky comes to life in a precious setting depicted by the Mercury, Venus and Earth orbiting around the sun at their actual speeds. All the while the diamond Moon circling around the Earth in 29.5 days, creating a curious celestial ballet on the dial.

This eloquent example is courtesy of a new and exclusive module developed in collaboration with Christiaan van der Klaauw for Van Cleef & Arpels. It features a self-winding mechanical movement in a smaller size, which fits perfectly into a 38-mm diameter case in white-gold, studded with diamonds in the bezel and sides of the case.

The dial is the epitome of understated luxury and is visible through the planetary spectacle with a shooting star in rhodium-plated gold. On the case back are two apertures that display the day, month and year, all surrounded by a shimmering decor. To complete this High Jewellery design, two bracelets are available in a blue glitter alligator strap to match the dial or a bracelet entirely set with diamonds.

Bowmore's 1966 Single Malt

Bowmore’s 1966 Single Malt

Wealthy connoisseurs still have a chance to snatch a bottle of the 74 remaining ones from Bowmore’s last cask of 1966 whisky available for sale. Recognized as the oldest surviving distillery on the rocky, remote Scottish island of Islay, Bowmore goes as further as 1779. As with almost all Scotch whiskies, it used to be distilled exclusively for use in blends. It became commercially available to the general public only in 1966, which coincidentally was the same year a young man named Eddie MacAffer began working at the distillery. In 2016, as MacAffer — who’d gone on to become the Bowmore distillery manager — celebrated his 50th anniversary there – commemorating the occasion with the bottling of the very last cask of 1966 Bowmore still aging in their famed No. 1 Vault.

Bowmore 1966 50 Years Old (priced at $30,000) is now being released as part of the ongoing 50 Years Old Vault Legends Collection. It isn’t as famous as the legendary 1964 Black Bowmore, the last cask of which was bottled and released earlier this year. However, with only 74 bottles available worldwide, it’s even rarer, and just as rich in taste. Aged entirely in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads and bottled at a cask strength of 83 proof, it has prominent notes of pineapple, followed by gentle smokiness and a very smooth, dry finish. The ideal aging conditions found in Bowmore’s No. 1 Vault have kept it from becoming overly tannic, despite the 50 years spent in oak.

The elegant packaging complements the whisky perfectly. Handmade crystal bottles adorned with silver flourishes and housed in a cabinet made of Scottish oak contain the precious liquor. The design of the oak cabinet accentuates its natural idiosyncrasies so no two will be exactly alike. At the center of each cabinet are five hand-laid silver rings, which replicate the tree rings that symbolize the whisky’s five decades in oak.

Bowmore has announced two more 1960s-vintage whiskies, although release dates are not yet confirmed. That will certainly give wealthy buyers something to look forward to after all 74 bottles of the exclusive batch sell out.

Audemars Piguet Previews Three New Women’s Millenary Watches

The women’s version of one of the most iconic men’s collections of all time, the Audemars Piguet Millenary certainly has a lot to offer. All dressed up in diamonds, enamel, marquetry, engraving, and other materials, the Royal Oak is the first luxury sports watch for the fairer sex. The Millenary, by way of differentiation, is the opposite of sporty. It has become emblematic for watchmaking’s decorative arts, while at the same time exuding a technical flair with its partially openwork dial.

At the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) next month, Audemars Piguet has announced the launch of three new models in the Millenary lineup. Two all-gold versions set with diamonds and a version with a “frosted gold” finish will come out just in time for the holiday season. The 18-karat white- or pink-gold versions have the same allure of fine jewelry, with diamonds set into the lugs and bezel with a handcrafted bracelet that can be used on its own.

A variation on the Milanese mesh style sees the bracelet braded from gold threads in a right-over-left pattern rather than in the same direction, just like a traditional Milanese bracelet is made. The result is a flexible piece of jewelry that comfortably hugs the wrist. The adjustable links can be removed or added in 5-mm sections for an even closer fit. The cases on the new models are scaled down to 39.5 mm, which makes them even more wearable.

The third new Millenary is characterized by a technique from the jeweler’s bench: a signature hammered finish that Audemars Piguet calls frosted gold. It is achieved by using a gold-hammering technique known as the Florentine method that results in tiny indentations giving the surface a shimmering sparkle, like frost on a windowpane.

Pricing for all three models will be made available in mid-January of next year.

Rolls-Royce Reveals a High-Tech Yacht Concept

Rolls-Royce has ventured into untapped waters with its futuristic 203-foot Crystal Blue – a combination of proven technologies and daring imagination. A steer from the luxury cars the brand is known for, the bold new concept marries a 12-guest, 203-foot superyacht to a state-of-the-art hybrid power system. The design team has also featured a 138-foot remote-controlled support vessel called Blue Shadow as yachting’s coolest dynamic duo.

Crystal Blue is a testament to how new technology can meet yachting’s increasing demand for higher performance, greater ranges, and increased levels of comfort. The concept employs the company’s hybrid LNG/Battery SAVe-CUBE system technology. The system uses twin 16V 4000 MTU diesel engines powered by liquid nitrogen gas (LNG). The LNG-powered generators are used to charge the yacht’s battery banks for overnight stays as well as power the yacht’s carbon-fiber thrusters.

crystal blue

One of the emblematic technologies is Rolls-Royce’s intelligent dynamic positioning systems with the GPS-based system able to keep the yacht firmly in place for hours or days, without being anchored.

Crystal Blue will have a safe room for owners, guests, and crew to seek refuge during any unauthorized boarding. The crew can override controls from this room and operate Crystal Blue remotely.

The yacht’s tanks have a range of 3,000 nautical miles without refuelling and with Shadow’s additional fuel capacity, the range increases to 4,400 nautical miles, making transatlantic crossings and voyages to even remote yachting areas possible.

The new digital-based ship intelligence solutions add value to the luxury yacht market, bringing ‘green’ values and previously unheard of levels of comfort to a yacht owner. Another unique feature of Crystal Blue is the lack of bridge. Or rather, its repositioning to the upper deck into the bow of the vessel. An internal bridge frees up the traditional area of the bridge in the forward part of the structure to let owners and guests enjoy a panoramic vista traditionally only enjoyed by the crew only.

The most expensive estate in Switzerland has hit the market for a staggering $185 million. The architectural marvel features a ceiling with floating candles that rivals Hogwarts’ Great Hall and is perched on snow-capped mountains in the Engadin alpine valley region.

At a little over 43,000 square feet, Lonsdaleite is a combination of sharp geometric lines and neutral tones that ensure unrivalled elegance throughout the property. A dramatic entryway leads to the grand reception, where 35-foot floor-to-ceiling windows reveal sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Rectangular strips of mink cover an entire wall opposite the dual-arched fireplaces. The breakfast nook introduces a whole new level of decadent luxury with its 24-karat gold-leaf wall and $145,000 bespoke egg sculpture that adorns the ceiling.
