Private Airbus A340: Unimaginable Luxury thematics Reaches for the Sky!

The Airbus A340 is a magnificent flying machine in its own right. Add to that an exclusive and luxurious interior that would suit royalty, and such is the incredibly high standard of interior design by British interior designer Celia Sawyer. With a touch of glamour that Celia is well known for, there has never been anything like this project before.

The owner of this Airbus A340 wanted a ‘floating palace in the clouds’. He requested grand spacious, areas with multiple entertainment options to keep guests entertained while cruising around the world in the sky. The client is a member of a royal family in the Middle East, and Celia clicked with him immediately.

celia sawyer airbus

With a team of artisans working on the beautiful project, the salon and lounge areas boast individual, gold-plated sections. They trace the curves of the aircraft creating a ‘wow’ look to those sections of the interior, which blends well with the unique and made to order, linear furniture that is decorated with hand-stitched Tuscan leather and elegant velvet. Two crystal chandeliers with 24-karat-gold accents adorn the lounge, while the bar area is impressively lit from beneath to create a magnificent visual effect. In the main bathroom, there is a Swarovski-crystal-and-glass washbasin, and the bathroom has midnight blue marble, and a fully integrated mirror faced TV screen.

The experimental project is a glamorous and glossy one, somewhat reminiscent of hotel or restaurant basking in high-quality leather interior furnishings. The interior does not resemble that of a plane, instead offers relaxed and pleasurable surroundings that will make passengers forget they are in the sky in a plane. Celia Sawyer’s career as an interior designer with a flair for the unexpected and brilliant! Her next project is with the Royal Navy, designing the Officers’ Mess on the HMS Queen Elizabeth warship, another prestigious and historical project.
