The 2017 Geneva International Motor was a whirlwind of aggressive new body styles, glamour and opulence. This year’s show, will run through March 19 at the Palexpo, will feature world premieres from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, and more. Some of the highlights of the highly-anticipated show include the spectacular Lamborghini Huracán Perfomante, which dashes from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds. Its lightweight construction, race-bred aerodynamics, and an improved air-intake system have taken a significant load off the weight of the car compared to other Huracán models. The electronically controlled rear wing uses a patented system to optimize downforce at high speeds. Lamborghini announced a starting price of $274,390 for the Huracán Perfomante with deliveries set to begin this summer.
McLaren will debut the successor to 650S with lighter weight, better performance, and improved aerodynamics compared to the previous model. Its new 4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine produces will allow the 720S to match the 2.9-second zero-to-62-mph time of Lamborghini Huracán Performante. Revised suspension and chassis-control system improve the car’s handling compared with the price expected at about $284,500, and deliveries to the United States will begin later this year.
The Koenigsegg Agera RS Gryphon is, by far, the boldest suggestion at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. The sleek beast is the embodiment of strength and speed, much like its mythical namesake creature — and is also adorned with a 24-carat gold leaf finish. The precious metal adorns exterior badging, making up the body’s racing strips, adorning interior surfaces, and even being featured on the engine at the hood’s struts. Koeningsegg has designed and built a unique V8 engine for their ambitious model – one that gives the hypercar 1360hp.
The Koenigsegg Electronic Stability control, front/rear hydraulic lifting system, climate control, bluetooth phone and audio connection, Apple CarPlay, and a full digital warning and information system are just some of the perks of the mind-blowing vehicle.
