The Lexus Sports Yacht concept will become a reality in 2019. When first announced way back in 2017, both motor enthusiasts and yacht lovers were salivating at the prospect. Parent company Toyota Motor Corp. confirmed their plans to build a 65-foot sports flybridge cruiser yacht. The boat would expand and improve on the 42-foot open sports cruiser design, yet retain all its positive qualities and outstanding features. The new yacht will be more luxurious, with plenty of room and a higher level of specs. The main difference will be the performance powered by some leading engines taken from superb high-performance motorcars.
The vessel’s hull, inner structure and superstructure are constructed with hand-laid, carbon-fibre fabric which is vacuum-infused with a two-part polyurethane resin. The Lexus Sports Yacht concept is powered by two marinised versions of the Lexus motor engines as used in the high-performance Lexus RC F coupe and new LC 500 grand tourer. They are high performance 5.0L V8 engines.
The sports yacht carries eight passengers in comfort providing them with high-speed luxury and a high-tech multimedia sound and entertainment system along with beautifully crafted, hand-made wooden and leather interiors. The layout will include luxury staterooms below deck with additional space to entertain up to 15 guests in style. To complement the features, you can benefit from the company’s unique connected services offer. It includes a brand new Mobility Services Platform (MSPF) providing security, smartphone integration with remote diagnostics. Maintenance and other support services come with the deal.
With specifications and exact pricing still to be confirmed, orders are already being taken for delivery in 2019 in the USA, and 2020 in Japan. No doubt the speed and comfort will attract enough interest from potential buyers, and we shall see more sports yachts such as this one on the high seas next season.
