Rolls-Roys has taken the automotive world by storm with not one, but two new additions to the Black Badge series and they’re beyond classy. Ghost and Wrath are designed for “people who are elusive and defiant, the risk takers and disrupters, who break the rules and laugh in the face of convention.” Basically, the company is courting rich renegades with a grittier, more brooding take on its recognizable style.

The new models will undoubtedly appeal to young, wealthy business moguls, who go by their own rules with cars that are “just as uncompromising and unapologetic in their choice of living and lifestyle as their predecessors.”

Technically and aesthetically, the ‘Black Badge’ is darker, more assertive, more confident and powerful, and more demanding than the standard Rolls-Royce silhouette. Black Badge leaves a powerful presence on the luxury landscape, marking a transformative moment for the great brand.

The unique appeal of the Black Badge series come, in part, from the black hood ornament along with lightweight, carbon fiber wheels and “the deepest, darkest and most intense black ever seen on a production car surface.

The Ghost Black Badge is powered by a 6.6-liter V12, now making 603 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. The eight-speed automatic adds a sense of urgency and delivers a soft ride. The Wraith benefits from 51 extra pound-feet of twist and a total of 623 hp. It gets changed transmission programming to offer a quicker feel.

Both models are priced in the $300,000+ range, which means darkness sure doesn’t come cheap, but that’s fine.
