The only residence ever designed by the late, great Zaha Hadid, the world-renowned architect. Hidden in the Barvikha Forest, close to Moscow in Russia, the house was commissioned by the Russian James Bond; Vladislav Doronin, as described by Hadid. Named the Capital Hill Residence, the ideal project includes a master suite bedroom elevated 36 meters into the sky, towering above the surrounding forest. The cost of this unique and superlative dwelling is a cool USD 140 million! The concept was born over a decade ago, with the design first drawn on a napkin! Doronin requested that he wake up with blue skies and no neighbours, free of distractions.
The house has several levels, some of them underground. There are three floors on the forested terrain rising to 22 meters which are artfully sheltered by angled glass facades and extensive, broad roofs. There is an impressive and expansive 65-foot-long swimming pool, a massage parlour, a hammam, a beautiful Japanese garden and even a nightclub!
There are beautiful geometric shapes and angles overhanging the walls, creating an elegant and aesthetic feel. The lower level contains a grand library, children’s bedrooms, kitchen and lounge areas. All the latest electronic security features and every conceivable luxury is built into the house, which is to be expected with such a hefty price tag! The project is a masterpiece and an absolute testament to Zaha’s genius, and his signature features are carved all over this marvellous creation. It features all the organic intricacy, complexity and a feeling of bright, open space. Since this is Zaha Hadid’s only residence, the exclusivity of the building is even more accentuated. It is one of a kind and a Kind of Magic! Although the house is a fortress, it looks like a palace!
