Rumor has it that Ford is about to relaunch the iconic Mustang Shelby GT500 in a big way. The legendary Mustang will challenge other super muscle cars such as the Dodge Challenger and Camaro ZL1.
The Shelby GT500 is set to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2019, where fans of Mustang will be able to get a first look at the much-anticipated event. Coincidentally, the launch coincides with Ford’s revamped Bronco 2020 launch. The engine will be the most potent and powerful one ever used in a Mustang and is expected to be a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine with hp exceeding 700 and a top speed of over 200 mph.
The exterior makeover included a new and sizable carbon fiber wing. The bonnet has an exciting design, and the overall style is smoother and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. The sizable exterior vent for heat extraction gives the front an aggressive, imposing look. The raised center contributes to the sporty style and hints at the power under the hood.
The speedometer verification procedure that the GT500 must follow indicates the impressive speed capabilities of the GT sports car. The features will include three distinct and bespoke driving modes. They include Weather mode, Launch Control and Drag Strip mode. Carbon-ceramic brake pads are also an option.
There are two choices of gearboxes, a six-speed manual transmission and a new 10-speed auto gearbox which was co-developed by Ford and GM. The car even sports old-style headlights in keeping with the Mustang tradition. That will keep enthusiasts and purists happy. The new 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is a legendary car eagerly awaited by Mustang fans around the world.
