The Sebring Edition Shelby Cobra

The Sebring Edition Shelby Cobra

Designed to kill and be disarmingly fast, the Sebring Edition Shelby Cobras, from Superformance and Shelby American, are exquisite clones of Carroll Shelby’s classic racers that competed at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1963. This extremely limited collection replicates the original vehicles’ design and engineering. All were initially customized for that specific endurance contest and the famous drivers behind the wheel.

The Sebring Edition Shelby Cobra03

Any wealthy race car aficionado will be thrilled with the replicas. The level of precision and detailing is outstanding with the green-glowing tachometer to the cutback door on the driver’s side to the dashboard switches from a B25 bomber.

The cars will be offered in four distinct liveries, two of which made their debut at the Sebring start. The originals were piloted by the legendary Dan Gurney. At the same time, Ken Miles was making a run for victory lane in chassis No. CSX2002 (badged with No.16). The two other versions available are variations to CSX2128. The car featured a facade of yellow with black stripes and black with yellow stripes again respectively.

The Sebring Edition Shelby Cobra02

Of the 15 cars – two will feature aluminum bodies while the remainder will be fashioned in fiberglass. All will be built above a steel tube frame chassis. Some of the notable Sebring specifics are a third hood latch, an FIA-style fuel filler cap, race-correct badging, a hood scoop with rivets, an aluminum radiator, and an interior roll bar.

The Sebring Edition Shelby Cobra04

The 15 examples will come with starting price that ranges from $160,000 to $195,000. Each car will be commissioned together with a Baume & Mercier Shelby Sebring watch that is numbered to match the corresponding chassis.

Kitty Hawk Flyer Personal Aircraft

The Kitty Hawk Flyer marks an exciting milestone in air travel for wealthy buyers who want to fly for fun with a minimum of effort. The all-electric aircraft is developed in Silicon Valley by Kitty Hawk Corporation, and backed by Larry Page, one of the co-founders of Google. Its light body and austere design are enough to qualify it as an Ultralight under the regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration. This means interested buyers won’t need a pilot’s license to operate it.

The Flyer is designed to fly over fresh water in uncongested areas. The pair of pontoons act as landing gear, and eight rotors provide lift. The pilot sits on top of it like a motorcycle, and operates controls mounted on a set of handlebars. Currently still in development, the final design may undergo changes and there is no official price revealed yet.

kitty-hawk-flyer-a-personal-elec

Kitty Hawk boasts it only takes “few hours of training on a flight simulator” before its personal aircraft can be taken for a solo flight. To make the ride as enjoyable as possible, the company has collaborated with various non-pilots.

A production version of the Flyer will be available for sale by the end of 2017. To qualify for the FAA’s Ultralight category, the aircraft must be used for sport or recreation only, hold only one person, and fly no faster than 55 knots (about 63 mph). There will be other restrictions on its capability and use. The cost will be announced upon launch of the production version.

Miami High-Rise Development Designed by Zaha Hadid

June 2017 will see ground breaking on one of Miami’s most luxurious condominium towers –the One Thousand Museum. The 62-story, 83-unit, super-luxury development on Biscayne Boulevard opposite Museum Park, will have sweeping views across Biscayne Bay to Miami Beach.

Zaha Hadid04

The project has been designed by late Zaha Hadid and boasts her signature fluid architectural expression. A concrete exoskeleton encased in a web of flowing lines creates a continuous liquid frame. On the lower floors, terraces occupy the corners; on the upper floors, the terraces are tucked in from the edges.

Zaha Hadid02
There is a duplex penthouse on the last two residential floors. The residence has been listed for $7 million. The final floor will feature an aquatic center, leisure area, and event space for residents. Other amenities will include thirty thousand square feet of communal areas, including a two-story aquatic center, a sky lounge, a multimedia theater, a wellness spa, gym facilities, and a private event space as well as a “bank quality” vault for the priceless possessions of residents.

There is commercial space at the base, in addition to eight stories of parking. At grade, the tower is ringed by pools and gardens.

Zaha Hadid03

The emphasis of the new residential development is an expressing the dynamism of the structure in an integrated whole that avoids the frequent typology of a tower resting on a base. A total of 83 units will present superior living space for wealthy tenants with open-plan living rooms and well-proportioned bedrooms. In addition to the last floor penthouse, there are eight full-floor apartments and 70 half-floor units.

Five generations later, the brand has fitted a powerful V-8 engine under the hood of the newest BMW 5 Series. The Silent Package’s bank of batteries is connected to a smart energy management system and allows owners to power the air conditioning, galley appliances, lighting, and entertainment systems without producing too much noise or vibration. This enhancement is a first for high-profile yachts and one that will surely take sea voyaging to a whole new level.

The flybridge is the main draw of the new Numarine. Its four-sunbed configuration surrounds a center helm station. It can accommodate up to four guests in the reclining sunbeds. Phillips’ Record Breaking 20th Century & Contemporary Art Sale

May 18th is fast approaching with one of this year’s most highly anticipated art auctions in the face of Phillips’ 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York. There is a number of sought-after pieces that are sure to generate a lot of interest amongst wealthy buyers.

Phillips' art022

One of the more notable pieces is Rosedale, a 1991 oil on canvas by the Scottish painter Peter Doig. The artist has participated previously in another auction, where his 1990–1991 work, White Canoe, sold in 2007 for $11.3 million. Rosedale is estimated to fetch close to $25 million, a sum that easily approaches the $25.9 million paid in May 2015 for the current Doig record-holder, Swamped. Quality Doig pieces are a great rarity on the market according to Jean-Paul Engelen, worldwide cohead of 20th Century and Contemporary Art for Phillips.

Phillips' art023

Also on offer will be Willem de Kooning’s Untitled II from 1980, which is estimated between $12 million to $18 million. De Kooning painted fewer than 10 pieces that year, but his untitled abstract expressionist canvases with Roman numerals consistently attracts the attention of bidders. Other highlights at the May 18 auction will feature David Hammon’s 1990 African-American Flag. The artist’s top 10 results all fetched above $1 million at recent auctions—and eight of those 10 recorded between 2013 and 2016. Phillips anticipates African-American Flag to go for $700,000 to $1 million. The auction house will also offer Woman: Sunlight, Moonlight, which is a rare limited-edition 1996 sculpture made by Roy Lichtenstein the year before he died. This exceptional piece may set a medium record for the artist s it is estimated in excess of $10 million.

Dreamliner01

On board Dreamliner’s flying penthouse available for rent at £20,000 an hour

A new impressive re-design of a commercial aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner sees it being transformed into a flying penthouse. Dubbed ‘VVIP’ because of its heightened exclusivity, it’s the world’s largest private jet. The £230million aircraft went on display at London’s Stansted Airport, this week, as it marks the launch of bespoke travel packages by Deer Jet.

Dreamliner05

To experience the Dreamjet’s flashy delights travellers will need to hire out the whole plane – as it’s not possible to book just a single seat. That will set them back roughly £20,000 per hour, meaning a flight from London to New York would have a price tag of at least £160,000 or from New York to Australia – £440,000 single fare, £880,000 for return journey. Although, that’s a small price for the complete privacy and unmatched luxury the remodelled aircraft offers.

Dreamliner04

The conversion offers guests ample space – 2,400 square feet to be precise – which is limited to a capacity of 30 lucky jet-setters. Fitted with extra-large windows for greater views of the skies, the luxury cabin also features 18 lie-flat first class beds, in addition to the main lounge for meetings, relaxing or partying.

Dreamliner03

The Marble-finish bathrooms are kitted-out with Jo Malone toiletries. In addition, the cabin also possesses private space for guests who want their privacy. Crew and in-flight butlers are accommodated in separate designated staff quarters.

Dreamliner06

High-standard leather sofa beds – which recline fully – are arranged around the 2,400 square feet cabin. The idea behind the new exclusive service is to ‘make travel an art’ for business and leisure travellers worldwide.
