Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse '1 Of 1'

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ’1 Of 1′

After six Bugatti Legends another special Veyron was revealed at Pebble Beach. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ’1 Of 1’ is a custom one-off version commissioned by a customer in Singapore. It takes inspiration from the brand’s historical designs and vehicles.

“For our customers, a Bugatti is an investment in an automotive work of art which will endure for generations. This is why every Bugatti is both unique and absolutely authentic in its technical prowess and stylistic form,” emphasises Achim Anscheidt, Chief Designer at Bugatti. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ’1 Of 1’ was presented to the customer next to a Type 44 which was provided by the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard. The colour scheme has been inspired by classic Bugatti models like the 41 Royale, Type 55 and Type 44. Every surface in this grille has been hand polished and it took over 200 hours to create.

The interior features extremely luxurious black leather that is nicely contrasted by yellow stitching on the steering wheel, seats and gear selector. The instrument panel is made of deep-black exposed carbon. Something that makes this car even more unique is definitely customer’s initials inscribed on the front grill, while the Bugatti emblem is visible on the back. The customer’s initials, “PL”, were laser cut. The brand logo, known as the Bugatti “macaron”, is displayed on the rear wing and also inside the car. Its 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged W16 engine delivers a potent 1200 hp.

No details were given about the car’s price, but I am sure that the new owner had to set aside a few million for this amazing car.

Hennessey Venom F5

Hennessey Venom F5

Named after the Fujita scale’s maximum tornado alert for winds of 261 to 318mph, F5 – the strongest tornado is perfect name for the next Venom. The Venom F5 will have a top speed of 290 miles per hour!

The Venom F5 will be unveiled in 2015, with first deliveries reaching customers in 2016. The company plans to produce 30 examples of the Venom F5, at a price higher than that of the Venom Gt, which currently sells for $1,200,000 (plus taxes). The Venom Gt will continue to be offered, and right now 16 cars of the 29-car production run have been sold.

“We are very excited about this next chapter of the Venom, which brings forth an all-new design that is not only a powerful and unique statement that our clients are looking for, but a vehicle that will achieve even higher performance through improved aerodynamics,” said company president and founder John Hennessey. “We learned a great deal during the development of the Venom GT in breaking the 270-mph barrier, and we bring that experience to this new design as we look toward raising the performance bar even higher.”

The 7.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine has been modified and adapted to produce in excess of 1400bhp. This car will exceed 1,000bhp per tonne in the power-to-weight department. The Veyron SS makes around 630bhp per tonne. The standard Venom GT has a drag coefficient of 0.44, while the F5′s figure will dip below 0.40.

The Venom F5 will feature a GPS-based stability/traction control system that can be pre-loaded with circuit information. This allows the advanced traction systems to read a racetrack and adjust levels of grip according to the surface type, camber and incline. The F5 will be offered with a single-clutch paddle-shift transmission: a dual-clutch ‘box was rejected on grounds of weight and durability.
Are you ready for the new tornado?

Porsche 911 Targa

Porsche 911 Targa

The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4 and 4S were revealed at the Detroit auto show. Targa Florio is Italy’s second most celebrated road race, which Porsche dominated in the 1960s. At the 1965 Frankfurt motor show, it bore the name Targa ostensibly as a tribute to the company’s Targa Floro victories. Now with more style and very elegant look, the 2014 model brings the taste of those times.

Unlike the early car’s roof which was purely manual in operation, today’s Targa is a completely automated transformation. The modern version’s roof segment can be opened and closed at the push of a button in just 19 seconds. Pretty amazing you must admit! More precisely, the push button operates two moving parts – the top and the wraparound rear glass.

Porsche’s engineers have split the roof into two movable components. The largest piece is the rear glass and its surrounding deck lid, and the other part is the Targa panel, which is a two-section magnesium roof bow covered in a fabric hood. The rear glass is unique and is a twin-thin-layer design that sandwiches a heating film from damp or cold mornings. Targa only comes in four-wheel drive format but it offers two forms – the Targa 4 and Targa 4S. The Tagra 4 is powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six that produces 350 horspower at 7400 rpm and 287 lb-ft of torque at 5600 rpm. The Targa 4S boasts a larger, more potent 3.8-liter flat-six with 400 horsepower at 7600 rpm and 325 lb-ft of torque at 5600 rpm. Either can be fitted with seven-speed manual or PDK twin-clutch auto gearboxes.

Luxury materials and premium design characterize the cabin. It features heated/ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a high-end Burmester sound system, a Bose premium sound system and LED headlights.

Maserati Ghibli

Maserati Ghibli

Italian luxury car manufacturer has unveiled another elegant beast ready to burn the road. Like the first Ghibli launched back in 1967, the new one has a powerful front end which features Maserati radiator grille whose concave vertical fillets are inspired by the GranTurismo and the A6 GCS Berlinetta, a famous icon from the past. The front headlights use LEDs giving it a dangerous look.

The car features 3 liter Twin Turbo V6 engine and the result is 330 HP (243 kW) at 5,000 rpm and, when the Sport button is pressed, 500 Nm available at engine speeds from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm. The Maserati Ghibli springs to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds; its top speed is 263 km/h. There are five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E. (Increased Control & Efficiency).

The interior of Ghibli is a perfect mix of modern design, high quality materials and ergonomic controls. Inside of the car you can find the ergonomic three-spoke leather-clad steering-wheel with controls for interacting with the main multimedia functions, a 7” TFT display that shows the car’s dynamic data, the large speedometer and rpm-counter with elegant white backlighting. Once you sit in Ghibli you will really enjoy the pure elegance that will surround you from all sides.

Dodge unveils 707-horsepower Charger SRT Hellcat

Dodge unveils 707-horsepower Charger SRT Hellcat

Dodge’s fastest and most powerful sedan is on a street. Dodge Division of Chrysler Corporation proudly presented its new spectacular 707 hp vehicles. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is one of the most interesting cars these days that has attracted the attention of people around the world.

Under the hood is the now familiar 707-hp supercharged V8 displacing 6.2 liters. It pumps out 650 lb-ft of torque, can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and can post a quarter-mile time of 11.0 seconds. It burns through 1.5 gallons of gasoline per minute. The 4,560-pound Charger is slightly heavier than the Challenger.

As in the two-door Hellcat, the engine is paired with the eight-speed automatic transmission. Charger SRT Hellcat also has the biggest brakes in the brand’s history and higher quality interior complete with a touch screen display.

“This is a car that most brands would never bring to market. This is a car that really does not have a business case for it,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand CEO. “Sometimes, you need to disregard the data; sometimes, you need to disregard the focus groups.”

The new steering wheel also features a 360-degree heat element and the whole interior is now sportier with much improved technology that gives the driver maximum comfort during the ride. There is an all-new electronic shifter with a T-handle and 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

Driving modes are available as Eco, Default, Custom, Sport and Default, while the Track mode enables the Charger Hellcat to Work at its full potential. The Drive Modes feature is controlled through the Uconnect system and may be accessed by pushing the SRT button on the instrument panel switch bank, selecting “Drive Modes” from the “SRT & Apps” menu or selecting “Drive Modes” from within the Performance Pages menu.

Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo

Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo

Lamborghini has unveiled its new Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo racing mode, designed to race in FIA’s GT3 class. Its specifications are very different to those of the outgoing Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo.

New Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo features an upgraded version of the standard Huracán LP 610-4‘s 5.2-liter V10 engine. The Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo gets a power bump from 602 hp to 620 hp. While the horsepower bump is modest, weight reduction is significant. Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo weighs 2800 pounds and it’s lighter than the standard car, thanks to a greater use of carbon fiber and aluminum and strict motorsports weight reduction. Lamborghini claims the racecar has a power-to-weight ratio of just 4.5 pounds per horsepower.

The redesigned Huracán Super Trofeo was developed in collaboration with Dallara Engineering, with direct involvement by founder Giampaolo Dallara. Next year the car will take part in the Blancpain Super Trofeo series, in all three (Europe, Asia and North America).

The Super Trofeo is rear-wheel drive while the standard Huracán is an all-wheel drive model, as was the previous Gallardo-based race car. “The Huracán Super Trofeo is an all-new car built from scratch with a clear racing concept. We believe it will be as fun for fans to watch as it will be rewarding for our racers to drive,” said Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini’s research and development boss.

The Huracán Super Trofeo marks a new benchmark for the race series. This stunning new beast has a very aggressive body kit and it features new front spoiler, a 10 position rear wing for improved downforce, roll cage, central exhaust tailpipe, racing wheel and a large digital display cluster. The front fenders have aerodynamic vents while the car is stepping on black 18-inch wheels with silck Pirelli tires.

Rolls-Royce developing new convertible

Rolls-Royce developing new convertible

Development of Wraith Coupé-based new ‘open top touring’ model is announced, and it will arrive in mid-2016. New luxury Rolls-Royce will be the brand’s second convertible after the Phantom Drophead Coupe and it will offer a perfect marriage of style and elegance.

“We are currently developing an exciting and thoroughly contemporary interpretation of a pinnacle drophead tourer which will introduce even more discerning men and women to Rolls-Royce ownership,” said Rolls-Royce CEO, Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

The car is already in an advanced prototype stage, meaning that it will be ready to make its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015. While the company isn’t offering many clues as to what exactly the new model will offer, there is very little doubt that the new car will be a convertible version of the two-door Wraith coupé. If it is a drophead Wraith, then it will very likely include the 623 bhp (458 kW) 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine pumping 590 ft-lb (800 Nm) of torque and its top speed will probably be limited, as is the Coupé, to 155 mph (249 km/h).

Key details about the ultra-luxury convertible, such as U.S. launch timing and pricing, are not available at this point, but I expect that the price will be higher than £250,000 (US$422,000). Rolls Royce has already sold 1,968 cars this year, up 33.4 per cent year-on-year according to its latest accounts. This will be just another luxury drop in perfect collection of one of the most exclusive and elusive brands in the automotive industry.

“The car will build on the success of (the Rolls-Royce) Phantom, Ghost and Wraith by continuing to boldly shape the future of the marque with contemporary, graceful and sensuous styling,” the automaker said. “It will deliver effortless, open-top touring through the perfect marriage of modern Rolls-Royce luxury, style and elegance with an engaging and exhilarating driving experience.”

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO – On Sale For $64 Million

The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO – On Sale For $64 Million

The iconic Ferrari 250 GTO was put up for sale in Germany priced at $64 million, and is alleged to be one of only 39 Ferrari 250 GTOs that left the Ferrari factory. If it’s true and the seller gets his asking price the 250 GTO Ferrari could become the world’s most expensive car! It’ll for sure attract the attention of the world’s best collectors.

Last October, a vintage 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for a record US $52 million to a private buyer. The Ferrari 250 GTO was produced from 1962 to 1964. The car was designed to race with a 3.0 L V12 engine and 300 HP which was perfect for the time it was introduced.

The car sports the familiar combination of red body paint and blue interior. The first 250 GTOs began to sell for over $1 million in 1986 and since then it has grown in value by almost 50 times! Ferrari built only 39 250 GTOs (33 of the “normal” cars, three with the four-litre 330 engine sometimes called the “330 GTO” – recognizable by the large hump on the bonnet – and three “Type 64″ cars, with revised bodywork).

Giotto Bizzarrini designed the car to win World Championships. The sale of the car does include a 19 percent VAT, which would net the government approximately $10 million dollars in taxes. The 250 GTO was one of the last front-engined cars to remain competitive at the top level of sports car racing. Before the advent of vintage racing the 250 GTO, like other racing cars of the period, passed into obsolescence. Some were used in regional races, while others were used as road cars.
The 250 GTO is model that most completely embodies the characteristics of the brand, and that is why it became the most valuable Ferrari.
