The unveiling of Ferrari’s new model is considered to be one of the most powerful sports vehicles to date. Only a limited number of 799 units of the visually striking and technically superior F12 Berlinetta will be built and sold to selected customers.

Danish tycoon’s strong vintage car sale

Just a few weeks ago,

the Danish tycoon Henrik Frederiksen held a very exclusive garage sale that featured models of an age long gone and a class of their own. A total of immaculately restored 48 vintage cars – some of them prewar -were auctioned by Bonhams.

SiO5GIBThe event took place in the businessman’s historical 16-century estate located in Denmark and attracted the crème of the European aristocracy and corporate world. Vintage car enthusiasts flocked to see the rare and spectacular models Frederiksen had taken more than 30 years to accumulate. What began as a hobby at the age of 18 soon turned into one of the most complete and outstanding collections of Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Duesenberg, Hispano-Suiza, Maybach and Rolls-Royce models – some dating from a century ago.

This particular vehicle has an asking price of $3.6 million as it features intricate and one-of-a-kind coachwork. The 1931 Duesenberg Model J “Disappearing Top” – a made-to-order treat for Cornelius Vanderbilt’s grandson cost its new owner $3.2 million.

w2T7Uq9Several Maybach models relay Frederiksen’s love for the brand, among which a $1.5m-prewar vehicle discovered in a Moscow lock-up. Another spectacular offering is the wooden-bodied Mercedes-Benz Phaeton auctioned for $2 million. The car is in excellent condition and features the original canvas seat covers, 90-horsepower aircraft engine and Louis Vuitton luggage.maybach

Five Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost models were auctioned for $640,000-$1,400,000; a 1905 US-built Woods electric car ($80,000-$100,000) and a 1939 Lagonda LG6 Rapide Drophead for $640,000 have earned Frederiksen’s collection the well-deserved title of “the finest in Denmark and Europe”.

Porsche Classics at the Hedingham Castle

The annual gathering of Porsche Classics at Hedingham Castle, Essex took place the weekend of September 6th. More than 1,000 classic and modern models of the famous brand were showcased in front of the public.

Porsche Classic CastleFirst held at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, the event was subsequently moved to Hedingham in 2007 and has since grown in popularity, models included and attendance. This year’s theme of the gathering was the 60th anniversary of the first Porsche Carrera road cars. Several vehicles part of private collections as well as exhibited at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart were transported to take part in the event.

Saturday night treated guests to a Mexican-themed “Carrera Caramba” party (£50) with cocktails, Mexican food and music. On Sunday auction house Coys held a sale of 61 collectable examples. These ranged from the original 911s built in the 1960s (priced from £45,000 to £110,000) to Turbo models from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s as well as limited-edition Speedsters.

Another interesting offer was the customized 1982 911 SC high-speed pursuit vehicle with original Dutch police emblems (priced at £80,000-£100,000), the 1997 Type 993 RSR Cup race car ((£110,000-£150,000) and the 1970 911S driven by British racing driver Vic Elford (price on request).

L6dwBF2Entrance to the event cost £25 per car and £5 per passenger with a lot of Porsche’s executives and owners of the original production making an appearance. While the emphasis remained on older signature models, customized new ones were also featured to expand on the variety.

New Models revealed by Rolls-Royce and Bentley

The 2015 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show has seen some truly spectacular models by leading brands. Leaders in the automobile industry have taken the scene by storm with the revelation of two new models that are epitome of contemporary luxury, power and technological advancements – the much-anticipated Bentayga sport utility vehicle (SUV) presented by Bentley and the Dawn convertible by Rolls-Royce.

At a price of £160,000 this is the first 4×4 for luxury car-maker Bentley and a bold move into unchartered territories – one which the company expects to generate 3,000 registrations per annum globally at peak. Marketed as ‘the most powerful, luxurious, and exclusive sports utility vehicle in the world’, the new Bentayga is a turning point for the company and capitalizes on the equivalent of two Range Rovers.

The latest in engineering technology allows for different modes – on or off-road terrains and there is an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and permanent all-wheel drive.

Nearly 80% of the exterior body panels of the Dawn are “newly designed” to accommodate the changes in shape and the evolution of design. The sleek four-seat luxury car is powered by the automaker’s twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V-12 engine. Some of the more spectacular features include an eight-speed satellite-aided automatic transmission, adaptive headlights with glare-free technology and adaptive cruise control.

Aston Martin unveils James Bond’s new car

The DB10 was debuted by Aston Martin as the new car built exclusively for the upcoming Spectre film of the James on franchise. This marks the continuation of a 50-yearlong partnership that has seen the famous luxurious automobile brand produce some of its most emblematic vehicles.
Production will be strictly limited to 10 cars and all will be constructed at the Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters. Specifications of the vehicle are kept secret, but the design builds on top of previous Aston Martin models and exhibits the same sleek curves and minimalism of architecture and engineering.
It is yet to be revealed what gadgets the luxurious ride will possess, but given that it will be none other than James Bond’s car, it will surely have to live up to the reputation of the fierce, elegant and dashing assassin.
Marek Reichman – Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer – will closely cooperate with the film’s director, Sam Mendes, to ensure the car is every bit the ideal statement vehicle for Britain’s most famous spy. Bond’s use of the brand began with the movie Goldfinger and has, since then, flourished into a decade-long creative partnership with the DB10 being the ultimate proof.

Tesla Model X

The new Model X was announced by Tesla and is expected to launch at the end of the year. Combining the ample space and diverse functionality of a sports utility vehicle and the unparalleled performance of a Tesla, the new car is breaking frontiers and setting new standards in the world of luxurious automobiles.
