Ford unveils all-new GT supercar

Ford unveiled an all-new GT supercar at the Detroit show that sets new standards of innovation, engineering and performance. The sleek model is set to become Ferrari’s most serious competitor for peak performance.

The car is designed by Scot Moray Callum, younger brother of Jaguar design director Ian, and features upwardly swinging scissor doors, 20’ alloy wheels and raised twin exhausts. It also boasts the most powerful EcoBoost production engine yet, which is a new twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6 with more than 600 horsepower.

Ford will begin production of the model next year with the car hitting stores in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This year’s Geneva Motor Show saw the introduction of another iconic model that was the result of the cooperation between Italian luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna and Maserati. The new limited edition Maserati Quattroporte will be produced in just 100 examples, and will be priced at £170,000 and available starting June.

The 530-horsepower, 185mph gentleman’s express bares the mark of Maserati’s detail to performance and Zegna’s unmistakable craftsmanship to provide the ultimate driving experience. Each vehicle is coated with a special Platinum Silk paint with aluminium pigments that give it a satin-like appearance and texture similar to Zegna cloth. This finish is also applied to the unique 20in wheels. An Ermenegildo Zegna plate is located on the side of the car and acts as a subtle statement of stature and elegance.

The interior is just as spectacular with the upholstery combining special chevron-weave Zegna silk with premium-grade leathers. The Maserati Quttroporte reaches a new level of on-road luxury with impeccable execution and attention to detail – roof lining, sun shades and door panels are all covered in grey jersey silk.

Based on the existing Gran Turismo MC Stradale chassis, the model sports the easily recognisable oval grille, imposing bonnet, and captivating modern design. The driver’s experience is enhanced by the TFT (thin film transistor) liquid-crystal instrument display and a range-topping 15-speaker, 1,280-watt audio system designed by Bowers & Wilkins.

Jaguar XF 2015 revealed

The new Jaguar XF is what sheer driving pleasure is all about. Innovative design and refined engineering deliver unmatched performance and uncompromising comfort. The XF’s aluminium-intensive architecture makes it 190kg lighter than its predecessor. The model is also 7mm shorter, but features a wheelbase is 51mm longer, leaving more headroom. Jaguar’s ‘Reva hoop’ design creates simple, yet elegant comfort and driving dynamics.

One of the more impressive features of the new model is the advanced aerodynamics with its straight lines and sharp edges that create a strong balance with efficiency. The car’s exterior is assertive and aggressive, bearing Jaguar’s easily recognizable form.

Engine and driving dynamics have also been improved thanks to a structure that is 28 per cent stiffer and 11 per cent lighter. Jaguar’s signature Configurable Dynamics provides the option to option to tweak the dampers, steering and eight-speed auto box. Electric power-steering is also available. Engine choices include the new Ingenium model that debuts in the XE, with 161bhp and 178bhp 2.0-litre diesels. Another choice is the revised version of the 296bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbodiesel with a whopping 700Nm of torque, and the 375bhp 3.0-litre V6 petrol from the F-Type.

Bentley unveils new EXP 10 Speed 6 Prototype

Unveiled at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, the new EXP 10 Speed 6, gently dubbed the new ‘Bentley baby’ is a spectacular two-seater that is posed to redefine the market for luxurious vehicles when it becomes available in three years time.
