PURE LUXURY LOTUS MOTORCYCLES C-01

Pure luxury: Lotus motorcycles’ C-01

Designed by Daniel Simon, new lightweight C-01 superbike is the result of a collaboration between motorsport veterans under the leadership of Kodewa, lead by Dr Colin kolles.

Concept designer, author, and producer, with professional roots as a senior designer at Bugatti and Volkswagen, Daniel Simon, has done an amazing job again. He is best known for the ‘Lightcycle’ in the 2010 Disney motion picture ‘Tron: Legacy’ and the ‘Bubbleship’ used by Tom Cruise in the Universal sci-fi hit ‘Oblivion’. I can freely say that this is one of the most beautiful motorcycle nowadays.

The original idea to create the C-01 came from Kodewa’s Dr Colin Kolles. He said: “We set out to create a bike that isn’t just great to ride but also represents a piece of art in motion. Over the years I have seen my fair share of style over substance, what this bike brings to the market is a unique combination of both: state of the art technology with a truly jaw-dropping aesthetic.” The bike’s geometry and construction is the work of Holzer, a company that has had a hand in designing several Moto One and Moto Two world championship motorcycles.

The limited edition (100 only) 180 kg Lotus C-01 is powered by a 200 hp, 75 degree v-twin Rotax motor similar to that used in the KTM RC8R superbike. The world’s first motorcycle to bear the legendary Lotus marque is now road registered and ready for action.

This stunning piece of art was inspired by the legendary Lotus 49 Formula One car of the late 1960s. “Conventional bike design avoid most styling trouble with very modular thinking, meaning each part like a gas tank, seat, tail, and fairing have their own lives, even if they come together in great harmony,“ said Simon.

HONDA NM4 VULTUS

Honda NM4 Vultus

Honda has announced a new motorcycle – the limited edition NM4. It combines Japanese manga styling with existing Honda underpinnings.

“The NM4 Vultus exists because of a passion from deep within our company. We wanted to create something special, not just in the two-wheeled world, but truly unique in the whole world – a machine that engages a human soul like no other ” , says Mr Keita Mikura, NM4 Vultus Project Leader, Honda Motor Company.

Honda’s 2015 NM4 is powered by the NC700X’s 670cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine.
The bike also features a digital LCD dash with a gear position indicator, full LED lighting, plus a wide 200mm rear tire and an instrument display that can be illuminated in 25 different colors and the NM4’s mega comfortable seat is a super-low (25.6 inches). The rear pillion seat flips upright when not in use, locking to provide the rider with a secure backrest and almost fighter pilot riding position. Its angle can be adjusted through 3 positions and it slides back/forward 25mm through four settings, to fine-tune cockpit comfort.

There are also three modes of operation:
- MT mode gives full manual control, allowing the rider to shift with the handlebar trigger control buttons.
- Automatic D mode is ideal for city and highway riding, and achieves optimum fuel efficiency.
- Automatic S mode is sportier and the ECU lets the engine rev a little higher before shifting up, giving greater performance.

Honda has announced that it will begin selling a production version called the NM4, priced at $10,999. Only one paint option will be available – matt black.
