Lexus’ New 42-Foot Sport Yacht engineered by Toyota Marine Department, and built by Marquis Yachts of Pulaski, Wis. is the next big thing on the scene for sea enthusiasts. Wealthy buyers will now be able to enjoy the Lexus lifestyle with this unique yacht that stuns with its complexity. Twin V-8 gasoline engines produce a total of 950 hp for a top speed of 49 mph.
The engine is based on the one that powers Lexus’ new LC 500 coupe. There is a “turbo-boost” option at the helm, which sends additional 1,000 rpm over the rev limiter for an adrenaline-inducing burst of speed.
The Sport Yacht’s hull is made entirely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, making it lighter with about 2,200 pounds. A 7-inch-diagonal touchscreen in the center of the steering wheel gives the captain full control of the boat’s navigation and entertainment systems. All design elements were inspired by the brand’s LFA supercar. The large, aggressive-looking forefoot complements the way the exterior lines run seamlessly from stern to bow, without any sharp edges. The seamlessly flowing design concept accentuate the profile of the yacht.
A panel at the forward end of the saloon and a set of steps lead to a hatch on the foredeck. It allows a deckhand to aid in anchoring and mooring the yacht. The seats line the sides of the cockpit and can accommodate up to eight passengers. Their form is functional, allowing guests to face each other. But when the boat is running, everyone can turn and face forward.
