I am sure that you all remember the previous model, Ultimate Aero which set its record back in 2007 on a public highway in Washington when it was able to hit an impressive top speed of 256.14 mph. At 2010, Ultimate Aero lost the title of the fastest production when Veyron Sport hit a top speed of 267.8 mph.
Designed by the talented Jason Castriota of SAAB and Fiat fame, the Tuatara will be powered by a custom twin-turbocharged V-8 engine capable of delivering 1,350 horsepower and 1,280 pound-feet of torque. It will have a top speed of 276mph. Already SSC has a number of orders for the Tuatara, which retails for $1.3 million.
