Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has debuted the newly revamped 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO, which is already on sale in dealerships throughout Japan. The new model boasts exclusive styling that incorporates the racing philosophy of form following function into multiple motorsports-inspired technologies to enhance the car’s performance. These include optimized aerodynamics and custom tuned suspension and powertrain to create a balanced machine that performs well on both the road and track.
The new GT-R NISMO carries a refreshed version of the original 2017 GT-R interior, with the cabin having a more upscale feel than its predecessor. The shape of the dashboard adopts a “horizontal flow” for increased stability for the car’s front-seat passengers. The distinct driver-oriented environment offers a new standard of comfort for those behind the steering wheel. There is an enlarged 8-inch touch-panel monitor with large icons on the display screen that is simple to use, and a new Display Command control located on the carbon-fiber center console for easy operation.
The redesigned dashboard, steering wheel and center armrest are all covered with fine Alcantara® leather for increased comfort. Another unique feature to the GT-R NISMO is the leather-appointed Recaro® carbon fiber bucket seats with red Alcantara® inserts.
Performance has also been upgraded, thanks in part to the model’s significantly reinforced body. The GT-R’s special Bilstein® DampTronic driver-adjustable system uses multiple vehicle information systems for damping forces and high levels of controllability that suit a variety of driving situations. The GT-R ‘s starting price begins at $111,585 and that includes a $1,595 destination charge.
The 2017 GT-R raises the bar for ultimate performance as it steps up to a new level of premium with hand-crafted materials.
